Collaborative Working

We pride ourselves on working with different groups and members of our community as well as the other Academies in our  Bridge Multi-Academy Trust (Wadebridge, Looe, Polperro, Pelynt, Darite, Lanlivery, Brunel, Duloe and Gunnislake)

We are associate members of The Caradon Cooperative Trust, comprising of ourselves, Gunnislake, Upton Cross, Coads Green, Pensilva and St. Kew.  We have enjoyed workshops at Sterts, participating in a STEM science project, joint moderation of assessments and we benefit from a collective communication across the schools.

Plymouth Argyle Football Club (PAFC) run an after school football club for the children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2.

We have an Extended School, offering wrap around childcare and a number of exciting clubs.

Callington Community College is our main feeder secondary school. Other primary feeder headteachers meet to discuss transition and moderation of assessments.

We have a great relationship with The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth who have run workshops for our Gifted and Talented pupils and have also visited the School offering exciting workshops.

Tesco in Callington have run a Christmas card competition for the last two years exclusively for pupils from Delaware and Gunnislake.  We have had school groups visiting the store and seeing behind the scenes.  Children have packed customers shopping and our choir sing outside Tesco, twice, in the run up to Christmas. They also helped to support our RE week by running a Diwali trail in school.

Callington Rotary Club helped us refurbish a classroom so that it was better suited to the needs of our SEN pupils. This has made a massive difference to their school day.  They also came in and painted 2 classrooms and a corridor in the summer holidays giving the school a fantastic bright start to the term. They also support us with Youth Speaks (public speaking competition) and we provide competitors for the Junior Crier competition as well as creating (with the help of a local artist) a giant or two and some Maypole dancers for Callington's annual 'Mayfest' celebrations.

Church The local Methodist church regularly come up and take 'Open the Book' assemblies with the children. We visit Gunnislake Church to take part in the annual Christingle service.
